Coinciding with October’s Domestic Violence Awareness month, HopeLine® from Verizon, in partnership with leading domestic violence (DV) prevention organizations (National Network to End Domestic Violence and National Domestic Violence Hotline) embarked on a multi-city bus tour – The Journey of Hope Tour – two years in a row.
The two tours drove over 15,000 miles, generated more than 200K event impressions, and gathered hundreds of messages of hope from mayors, advocates, employees, and survivors.
The tour engaged consumers, media, local DV coalitions and Verizon employees in key markets, to raise visibility for the issue of domestic violence, showcasing local and national DV resources.
At each event, the “Wall of Hope” invited consumers to share words of strength and quotes of empowerment on branded purple Post-it notes, which were posted online following each event.
The Wheel of Hope prize wheel featured compelling DV statistics and branded call-to-action cards that were distributed along with a prize that directed consumers to online resources to learn more about ending DV. HopeLine® Device Collection Stations were present at each event to collect no-longer used cellphones and chargers to provide to organizations working with victims and survivors who need access to phones.
